What we're about
Welcome to the Central New York Creative Writers Cafe!
The Central New York Creative Writers Cafe is a workshop for writers of varying experiences, genres, and forms (fiction, nonfiction, poetry, script writing, playwrighting, etc.). Please note that we are not a creative writing class. Members are expected to be writers with a sufficient degree of knowledge about the writing process and a basic understanding of English grammar and syntax. You certainly don't need to be published, but you should feel comfortable enough with your writing that you're willing to share it with others.
We meet every Thursday night in Camillus from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. We have a constructive, serious atmosphere in which writers meet and share writing, ideas, criticism, discussion, and company. While we may be serious about our our writing, the group is nevertheless warm, friendly, and welcoming. When you submit work, it will be carefully reviewed and critiqued in a nonjudgmental and helpful manner. On top of this, we offer a great social experience. You're bound to enjoy the meetings!
Please be aware that regular or semi-regular attendance is necessary for membership. Thank you for your interest!
