Harris Whalen Park in Penfield, meet at the park parking lot, off Penfield Rd (Rt 441) across from Wegmans. This is a short hike, about 1 mile.

March is maple month! Join Alyssa Rose for a walk at Harris Whalen Park to celebrate all things maple. Along the way we will learn about maple tree identification, sap collection, cooking, and uses. We will also test our knowledge with tap trivia and play games like pass the pancake.
This is a beginner hike and fun for the whole family! We will travel approximately 1 mile on a mostly flat trail (50 ft elevation gain). The group will gather at the Harris Whalen Park trail head parking area at 1:30 PM. We will be out for approximately 1.5 hours. All hikers should dress for the weather and prepare for possible snow, cold, rain, or mud puddles. We hope to see you there!
