Francois Truffaut's 1962 New Wave film charts the vicissitudes of a romantic triangle among three Bohemian friends in post WW I Europe. Based on a semi-autobiographical memoir, it was very influential for the future of world cinema, and a breakthrough role for Jeanne Moreau establishing her as a major star.
