Crones Community (Eugene Social 50+)

Crones Community is a social group for Eugene/Springfield women age 50+ who identify as politically progressive. Crones are inclusive and welcome all women with open minds and hearts. Many of us are new to the Eugene/Springfield area and appreciate the gathering of Crones.

Most events will be announced well in advance, but some will be posted much more spontaneously.  There is no expectation regarding attendance.  Simply join us whenever your interest is piqued and your schedule allows.  Event Organizers rely on Meetup RSVP information to make decisions right to the last minute.  Please only attend events to which you have RSVPed and are on the “going” list. Also, if you have RSVPed and find you cannot attend, please try to update your RSVP as far in advance as possible (preferably within 24 hours) so others on the waitlist can attend. Please be aware that not showing up for an event to which you have signed up without cancelling is not fair to those on the waiting list and we will contact you to discuss.

As co-organizers, we realize the frustration of trying to get into events, such as weekly coffees, and being waitlisted. It is unfortunate that due to space limitations at restaurants and cafes, we cannot have events open to all who sign up to attend.  One of the issues that has caused frustration among members is being bypassed on a waiting list by a Meetup+ member who moves ahead of you. Since one of the major principles of our progressive group is fairness, we have decided to no longer honor Meetup+. If you wish to keep it for other groups, that is fine, but we will not honor it in fairness to all of our members. In order to do this, we will monitor waitlists to ensure that members are not bypassed by a Meetup+ member.

Crones membership is $10 per year which helps to defray the cost of subscriptions to Meetup as well as support certain events, such as holiday parties.

Please be advised: this group has a strict no solicitation policy. Members who market goods and/or services to other members, whether online via the Meetup app or in-person during events, will be removed from the group.
