Immigration: One Country, Many Stories

Details

Immigration has long shaped the identity and direction of our nation, but how we view it can vary widely based on our experiences, values, and hopes for the future. Whether we have personal ties to immigration or have formed opinions through observation and reflection, the topic often sparks deep emotions and thoughtful conversations.

At this meeting, we’ll explore our individual perspectives on immigration and the personal stories that shape them.

We’ll ask questions such as:

  • What experiences—personal, cultural, or community-based—have most influenced your views on immigration?
  • What do you believe makes for a “good” immigration policy, and what goals do you think it should accomplish?
  • How do your values shape the way you think about issues like border security, immigrant rights, and refugee policies?
  • How do you think immigration has shaped your community or our country—for better or worse?
  • What does the idea of America as a “melting pot” mean to you today?

This conversation invites us to reflect on what immigration means to each of us and to listen with curiosity to the experiences of others.
Please do your best to arrive at the beginning of the meeting – once we are in breakout rooms and the conversations have started, the meeting doors close to new arrivals. The breakout rooms open (and the doors close) approximately 15 minutes after the hour.

We would love to hear your thoughts on our social media pages. Don't miss topic announcements, updates, news!
