Smart Contracts & DeFi: Path to Sovereignty

Details
This is the first in the series of total three (3) meetups related to smart-contracts and decentralized finance (DeFi). In this first meeting, we will prepare the listener for the next two on smart-contract applications. In this introductory meeting, we will also share real coding examples. The two later meetings will then be much more focused on non-fungible tokens (NFTs).
It is not mandatory to attend this first meeting to understand the later ones, but it is recommended; and to avoid any misunderstandings, this first meeting is not intended to be (too much) "developer focused."
/* The main ideology of the series is to empower the individual with extensive enough knowledge to spark interest in smart-contract applications, even so much that to launch their own native NFTs. We very much welcome artists working in the NFT space, or wanting to work there, to join us in this quest! */
The speaker of the first event is Ville Sundell, a seasoned professional in smart-contract programming, with extensive experience from several blockchain and crypto projects, including for example Telos.
The meeting is planned to have the following agenda: (a) Philosophical underpinnings and historical background (b) Different solutions that could be used and discussion of their strengths and weaknesses (c) Example case of blockchain to be used: Ethereum and its status (d) Example code pieces that help to understand, among others, NFTs. Finally (e) discussion and networking.
Please note: The space for the event may be limited, so be fast to grab your seat, too! The physical event takes place downtown Helsinki at EPICENTER. There is streaming available via Discord (voice channel): https://discord.gg/ESKP8NNy the video stream should be able to accommodate enough people, otherwise it will be voice only.
