Vía Verde de Villalonga

This old railway lines in between Villalonga to Lorcha, converted in one of the most beautiful trails for hiking in the Valencian Community. You will walk in a riverside forest, along banks of river “Serpis, passing through several tunnels and two bridge. On the halfway we will find very good preserved building, “Fábrica del Infierno” (the factory of Hell), an old hydroelectric power station. We will cross Barranc de l’Infern a declared protected landscape, we will finish at “El Racó del Duc”, a beautiful natural area rated among the best in the Valencian Community.

Ruta: The route is linear, 13 kilometers long (Map down) and easy difficulty.

We will start hiking in L’Orxa (Lorcha) and finish in Villalonga, Another village 13 kms away from start point.

A lovely beautiful and ecological hiking trails of 4-5 hours approximately, Further on, it joins that of the Serpis River, the largest in the province of Alicante and cross Barranc de l’Infern, declared a protected landscape, several kilometers later, we will arrive at the area known as “El Racó del Duc”, a natural area of great beauty, rated among the best in the Valencian Community where we also find La Fábrica del infierno, which used the river water to move the generators.

▪️ Food and drink: Bring food and drinks from home because we will walk a lot and we will not stop at any restaurant.
▪️ Suitable shoes: (sports or mountain shoes, but please no slippers)
▪️ Clothes : Wear comfortable / sports clothing. Do not forget to bring a jacket because it will cool on the top

Esta antigua línea de ferrocarril entre Villalonga y Lorcha, convertida en una de las rutas de senderismo más bonitas de la Comunidad Valenciana.
Haremos un recorrido en un bosque de ribera, a lo largo de las orillas del río Serpis, pasando por varios túneles y dos puentes. A mitad de camino encontraremos un edificio muy bien conservado, la Fábrica del Infierno, una antigua central hidroeléctrica. Atravesaremos el Barranc de l’Infern paisaje declarado protegido, terminaremos en “El Racó del Duc”, un precioso espacio natural catalogado entre los mejores de la Comunidad Valenciana.

La ruta es lineal de 13 kilómetros de largo (mapa abajo) y dificultad fácil.

Empezaremos la ruta en L’Orxa (Lorcha) y terminaremos en Villalonga, otro pueblo a 13 kms del punto de inicio.
Una ruta de senderismo bonitas y ecológicas, de 4-5 horas aproximadamente de gran belleza y valor ecológico.
