A return to Black Rock State Park is our 16th Mindful Hike. Also learn of the legend of the Leatherman who roamed the area in the mid 1800’s. The cave at Black Rock was one of his favorite spots to lay his head.We will be taking the Leatherman Cave Trail to Branch Brook Trail Loop. This hike is 4.6 miles with an elevation of 715 ft. **Please note ** this is a longer hike with some scrambles. It has some challenging sections.
Proper hiking footwear, cold weather gear and adequate water are necessary. Bringing additional gear like poles or spikes is a personal safety decision. There may still be snow in the area and this should be considered.
We will also be incorporating mindfulness skills into our hike like breathing and grounding skills. We would appreciate if phones are put on silent. Please no pets due to promoting a more mindful experience and overall group memberer comfort.
