Humanist Explorations - A Night in Havana: Dizzy Gillespie in Cuba

Join us for a special screening of A Night in Havana: Dizzy Gillespie in Cuba (84 min), chronicling jazz legend Dizzy Gillespie’s historic 1985 journey to the Havana Jazz Plaza Festival.

Accompanied by a documentary film crew, Gillespie ventures beyond the stage to jam with neighborhood musicians, explore Afro-Cuban roots, and capture unforgettable festival performances alongside Cuban greats Arturo Sandoval and Gonzalo Rubalcaba. More than a concert film, it is an intimate look at a cross-cultural exchange.
