About us
Welcome chess players and new players alike!
Once a month, Cucamonga Chess meets at the Ontario Library. We always meet on the third Saturday of each month, but be sure to double check each individual event page in case something changes, or a new event is added.
This is a casual club, so there are players of all strengths. We have had many beginners and we are family friendly as well, everyone is welcome to join in on the fun.
We have free chess boards and chess clocks that can be borrowed for the duration of each event, or you are free to bring your own.
IMPORTANT: Please consider donating to the club. A simple $5 donation once a month from our regular members would keep Cucamonga Chess up and running. We currently pay out of pocket for our Meetup Subscription and other materials. Thank you for your consideration!
We are also in search of a new venue, either near Ontario or more South towards Orange County. Please contact Ian Erickson if you know of a venue that would thrive from an intellectual and thoughtful group of individuals being at their establishment!

Bringing a chess set is optional, we will be hosting a private classroom at the Ovitt Family Library (215 East C Street Ontario 91764). Our room is the main meeting hall, as you walk into the library, we will be on the left-hand side, two double doors, you can't miss us. You can contact me at 909-544-6561 or message me here on Meetup if you have any questions.
As I've grown a lot of passion for the game, I would love to be able to help newer players learn chess or improve their chess at these events. Since I had not seen anything in the area and was traveling far out to get real in-person chess games, we organized this group over a year and a half ago now.
Meet like-minded people, learn something new, and enjoy the game!
