Greetings, all!

You are being hereby cordially invited to join us in the clean city of Haarlem on the hopefully sunny afternoon of Saturday, May 2, for the worthy purpose of cultural enrichment and subliminal classical indoctrination :) This said activity will take place by way of a visit to two (2) iconic musea in the city: Teyler's and the Frans Hals. The former is known as the oldest public museum in the Netherlands and offers to visitors a wide assortment of rarities, as well as hosting a variety of non-permanent expositions, while the latter contains an important collection of paintings from the Golden Age, including by Frans Hals (everyone heard of Mr. Hals, I presume? :) ).

At Teyler's museum we'll view a rare exposition named 'De exotische mens' which showcases how 19th and early 20th century Europe viewed indigenous cultures from around the world. We will be essentially visiting an exhibition taken straight out of the Victorian age! This unique attraction is around until May 10th only, so this is our next-to-last chance to catch it. One minor caveat: word is that this exposition is all in Dutch but this shouldn't be a problem: we'll kindly translate all inscriptions and make sure everyone understands what he/she beholds. It will be some team-building, let me tell you.

After Teyler's, we will proceed to take in the classics at the Frans Hals Museum. I am sure I do not need to advertise this museum further :)

And right after they politely ask us to vacate that latter building at closing time we will go look for a nice coffeeshop (in the English sense of the word) or terrace to sit down, grab a bite and go over our impressions.

So. Let's meet at the big bus station next to Haarlem Centraal (map) and make our way from there to Teyler's. Please note down the phone number that will be provided and don't hesitate to call if you cannot find the group or are running late.

Forget not your Museum card. Admission cost is: free/7 euros at Teyler's with/without the card, and 2.50/10 euros at Frans Hals with/without the card.

P.S. A bit of fineprint: a) please mean it if you RSVP 'yes'; b) this wonderful event will take place only if at least 5 other museum enthusiasts besides myself RSVP 'yes'. So come many and bring your friends along too. See y'all in Haarlem!
