An Iranian boy is lost after fleeing home for his life; his family has been killed during the Iran-Iraq war. He's saved and trained by a middle-aged woman. Directed and written by Bahram Beyzaie in 1985, the film was initially banned for several years before its first release in February 1989. Widely regarded as a masterpiece, critics and filmmakers have consistently voted it as the greatest film in the history of Iranian cinema.
