HISTORIC CANAL TOUR (Detroit River and canals by kayak)
Details
The kayak season has begun. Come join me on a kayak tour of the canals in Detroit and venture out on the Detroit River. Along the way, you will learn some history about the river and the city.
Purchase your reservation at Detroit River Sports website.
Be sure to choose Historic Canal Tour for Friday, May 22 at 2:00 pm.
Join me for a tour of Detroit's 'Little Venice' by kayak. We will explore the canals of the Jefferson Chalmers neighborhood of Detroit, venture out on the Detroit River while learning about some of the influential people of Detroit's history and the significance of the Detroit River to the region. The tour is approximately 2 - 2.5 hours including gear distribution and safety talks. Kayak, paddle and pfd (personal floatation device) are included. Bring water, sunscreen, sunglasses and hat. The tour goes out rain or shine, except in the case of severe weather. In the event of inclement weather, the tour will be rescheduled or you can request a refund.
Some kayaking experience is helpful but not necessary. This is a beginner friendly tour.
After the tour, dinner is available at Coriander Kitchen and Farm, conveniently located right next door to Detroit River Sports. Reservations strongly recommended. The kitchen opens at 5:00 pm but the bar is available for drinks prior to dinner service.
Send me a direct message or post a comment if you have any questions.
I hope to see you there!
