On Friday 23rd of May at 7pm, we enjoy a home cinema experience at Klavieratelier Mignon in Binningen. The screened movie will be "FANNY - The Other Mendelssohn" (You may find the trailer below)

6pm: Door opening with food and drinks, time to socialise
7pm: Start of the event, including a short interview with director Sheila Hayman and 15 minutes of music. And some more drinks
8pm10: Beginning of the projection of the movie

About the movie:
Fanny: The Other Mendelssohn is a powerful documentary that reclaims the legacy of Fanny Mendelssohn Hensel, a brilliant 19th-century composer whose genius was sidelined by a world that refused to take women seriously. While her brother Felix rose to fame, Fanny wrote over 450 works—many unpublished, and some even wrongly credited to him.

Directed by her descendant Sheila Hayman, the film follows the rediscovery of Fanny’s stunning Easter Sonata, long misattributed to Felix. Performed by rising star Isata Kanneh-Mason, the documentary intertwines history, music, and a fierce feminist lens to ask: how many women like Fanny have we forgotten?
