Astrophotography is one of the ultimate photography challenges. You take pictures of items you cannot see with the naked eye, achieve photographs where the object is barely visible, and then, through the magic of post processing you achieve your goal of an image so awesome, you cant believe you took it.
Astrophotography is available to all interested in the night sky. It can be as simple as pointing your camera at the sky and taking a picture, or can require photographing via a high powered telescope, taking multiple images, stacking them, stretching the histogram, and processing to balance the image.
The cost of entry into shooting via a telescope can be significant. This group will afford an opportunity to get hands on experience without having to make a heavy investment first.
If you have the equipment, this will afford an opportunity to brainstorm and benefit from the group experience and participate in group shoots.
If you just want to point your camera at the stars, we will work on those aspects of astrophotography too.
