Description
Sometimes the best way to reset is to just step outside—and that’s what today is all about. This hike is a chance to step away from the world and be in nature. Think of it as a little retreat for your senses.
Also, just a gentle reminder: please leave pets at home for this one. We want to keep things calm and easy for everyone in the group.
Location: Lower Hibernia Parking Lot - Green Pond Road, Rockaway, NJ.
From the Exit 37 overpass of Interstate 80, drive 2.8 miles north on Green Pond Road. You will pass the Rockaway River Barn on the left hand side. Continue to follow Green Pond Road and when the road splits, stay to the left. Continue to follow Green Pond Road and parking will be on the right hand side. If you pass the Hibernia Branch Library at 419 Green Pond Rd, Hibernia, NJ 07842 you have gone too far. I drive a bright yellow jeep that will be visible from the main road on the right hand side in the parking area and we can meet there.
Details
Hike start time is 9:00 so plan to get there at lease 15 minutes early since we start on time. If your plans change, please update your RSVP as a courtesy to other hikers.
Description
5.2-mile loop trail, considered a moderately challenging route, it takes an average of 3 hours.
Pace: easy/moderate with short breaks
As a reminder, please have good hiking shoes, water, snacks, tick off and dress in layers for the season.
