REIGATE - BETCHWORTH - BROCKHAM - REIGATE
A varied and picturesque hike through the hills of the North Downs, the Mole valley villages and through idyllic countryside interspersed with grassy meadows and magnificent oak trees
HIGHLIGHTS
Visit Brockham (famous for its annual bonfire) and ancient Lime works
Pass Reigate Windmill (considered to be one of the few consecrated
windmills in the world)
Walk around the 13th century St Michael's Church (4 weddings & a funeral)
Stunning views over looking several hills from the top of Colley Hill
Criss cross the the river mole and meander through quaint countryside villages
Terrain: The hike begins with a steep incline (20 mins or so), once this is completed it is flat, then a period of 30-40 mins downhill then a few undulating parts but nothing steep.
Length: Approx 21 km (13 miles)
Pace: Brisk (You will need to maintain a reasonable pace around 3 miles an hour)
Time: We may finish earlier or later depending on the speed of the group and lunch stop
Lunch: Please bring a packed lunch and atleast 1 litre of water. Lunch will be about 2 1/2 hours into the hike, we will stop for water breaks.
Attire: Please wear hiking boots and bring waterproofs. If you have walking poles it's always useful to bring but not essential
DRIVING
Come early as parking is not that easy to find around the station.
However there are parking slots further down Somers Road

TRAIN
Trains from London Victoria (Check using http://www.trainline.com).
There are a few cafe's near by and toilet facilities at the station (for train goers).
