DESCRIPTION
Join us for a very varied, scenic and interesting hike in and around Woking. After passing HG Wells' house, we go into woodlands and visit a Second World War memorial, zig zagging our way through more woodland, we visit the "Sand Pit" where the martians landed in the "War of the Worlds", then go past the Inn where Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde stayed (In the Novel: "In The League of extraordinary gentleman").
We'll visit an idyllic lake, walk through an airport and then make our way back to Woking along the river towards the martian statue and then to the station.

STATS
Distance: 18 km (11.2 miles)
Terrain: Nearly all flat. Lots of dense woodland. Some which may be overgrown so wear long trousers....
Parts maybe muddy so wear good hiking / walking boots
Pace: Brisk (parts of the walk go through dense woodland, where we'll need to stick together, it's not advisable to go ahead of the group as you will get lost, it's a very interesting hike, but logistically one of the most complicated that I lead)
There will be several stops along the way. If you are coming for a fast paced hike with few stops do not come on this hike.
MEETING POINT
Just outside the station (on the side where COSTA COFFEE is). If you don't see COSTA COFFEE in front of you take the tunnel to the other side of the station.

Departure time: 10.35 am (We will leave for the walk at this time)
