Making remote teams successful
Note: Meet & greet begins around 5:15 with the presentation around 6 PM. Abstract There is a larger of pool of software developers out their than what is locally available. Many skilled developers are overlooked because of geographical location and their inability to relocate. Offering remote positions can open up candidate options to companies, but how do you make this work? I will go over managing accountability, knowing who can handle remote work, how to bond a team, the challenges and the solutions for making remote teams successful. Presenter Jess Stodola is a remote Software Engineer for Comcast and has helped to build an API proxy service providing load balancing, authentication and firewalls using Lua, JavaScript and Python, a self service portal using React, and a backend monitoring system with Elixir. She also dabbles in web development using JavaScript, Rails and Sinatra on the side. This meeting is sponsored by Applied Data Consultants (http://www.adc4gis.com/)
