Monticello Road and Quarry Road Cleanup

We're going back to finish Monticello Road! 🧤

In September, volunteers filled a 20-cubic-yard roll-off dumpster on Monticello Road and along Moores Creek.

That's a lot of trash out of one neighborhood. We didn't quite get it all, so we're coming back to finish the job.

This time we're working Monticello Road, Quarry Road, and the Moores Creek buffer in South Charlottesville:

🥫 Access road: bulk-dumped bottles and cans between Route 20 and Monticello Road
🌳 Moores Creek buffer: clearing the wooded strip before it all washes into the creek
🏕️ Abandoned campsites: several still left to clear

Parking: along the retaining wall next to Ace's Bar and Grill. Please park only in the designated spaces. Parking anywhere else puts the event at risk. Look for the Cville Litter Pickers sign.

This is a neighborhood people use every day, and it's right on Moores Creek, which feeds the Rivanna. Everything we pick up here stays out of the river.

All equipment provided. Wear closed-toe shoes and long pants, and bring water.
