Monticello Road and Quarry Road Cleanup
Details
We're going back to finish Monticello Road! 🧤
Last time out, 27 volunteers pulled 155 bags, five tires, and over 3,000 pounds of trash out of South Charlottesville. That haul included a recliner, a metal bed frame, suitcases, and a long-abandoned wooden structure. Miller School of Albemarle students cleared 80+ bags from the U-Haul access road by themselves.
We’re going back to finish the job and get ahead of some new dumping:
🚚 U-Haul access road: finishing the dumpsite we started in October
🆕 New dumpsites: a few fresh spots have popped up since our last visit
🛣️ Lots and road shoulders: everyday litter along Monticello Road and Quarry Road
Parking: along the retaining wall next to Ace’s Bar and Grill. Please park only in the designated spaces. Parking anywhere else puts the event at risk. Look for the Cville Litter Pickers sign.
This is a neighborhood people use every day, and it drains to Moores Creek and the Rivanna. Everything we pick up here stays off the streets and out of the river.
All equipment provided. Wear closed-toe shoes and long pants, and bring water.
