Hack the Holidays 2018

Venue
This meetup/mini-workshop will be at the Old Worthington Library (OWL) near the intersection of High St and 161. We'll be in the meeting room, which holds 35 people comfortably with enough seating for everyone.
There's plenty of parking in the lot at the back of the of the library and along the side street. When you enter the library just ask a librarian where you can find the meeting room - we'll be there.
Equipment
We will have a projector and power strips available to use. This meetup will be a hands-on software reverse engineering mini-workshop, so please bring your laptop with Windows (bare-metal or VM), the Binary Ninja demo (https://binary.ninja/demo/), and x64dbg (https://x64dbg.com) installed. OWL has free WiFi if you need to download anything on-site.

Purpose and Goals
This mini-workshop is designed to share the joys of software reverse engineering! We'll focus on 32-bit x86 and learn by doing.
This fast-paced, low-stress event will have you infiltrating Santa's Workshop and collecting the five keys needed to unlock Santa's Vault to remove your name from his naughty list.
We'll learn how to spot common C-level constructs in x86 assembly including switch statements, loops, if/else, structures, dynamic calls, and basic algorithms.
At no point will you be left alone to struggle - we'll be working as a team, infiltrating the wings of the workshop, sneaking past elves and learning important skills along the way!
Handouts, Installs, Setup
This meetup is hands-on! Please bring your laptop or plan to work with someone. The handouts will serve as helpful references and reminders during our "Hack the Holidays" operation.
Project Materials
All materials will be on GitHub after the event, so if you can't make it, no sweat.
Drinks After
If you're interested, we're going to head over to Porch Growler after the workshop. It's just one street north of the library with plenty of parking.
