Topic
Common vulnerabilities and their manifestations.
Topic description
We'll take a guided tour through several software vulnerability types and and the various ways they can manifest.
We'll show examples of these vulnerabilities appearing in CTF challenges as well as popular real-world software.
After this talk you'll have some rather intimate knowledge of several bug classes, how they appear in C/C++, what they look like in assembly, and the conditions required for exploitation.
How to find us
We will be in the private party lounge in the back. Pizza will be provided by our awesome friends over at Battelle.
Equipment
The lounge has plenty of tables/chairs, power outlets, WiFi and a couple of large TVs to broadcast on.
Purpose and Goals
Capture the Flags (CTFs) are a lot of fun, especially when mixed with pizza and drinks.
The purpose of this meeting is to continue a regular (monthly) meetup of CTF enthusiasts around Columbus to get together and share cool problems, tools, techniques or just a drink ;)
This will be a low-stress environment and we want to encourage collaboration between folks of all skill levels.
Plain and simple, we want to work on fun and challenging problems while getting to know our fellow security researchers!
Each month we'll place emphasis on a specific category of CTF problem voted on by the group. Want to learn more about reverse engineering, vulnerability research, exploit development, cryptanalysis, or forensics? Then come on out! See you there!

May CTF Bash!
