AI Art: is this the end for human artists?

Details

The quality of AI art is rapidly improving and some see it as ending the careers of human artists. For this event we will be discussing the implications of AI art; the good and the bad. Can machines be creative? Does AI art steal from human artists?

The image above was generated by Midjourney AI using the text prompt "cyberpunks meetup in a pub in Bethnal Green".

We might even have a go at creating our own cyberpunk style comic with a little help from an AI. We've booked the upstairs room at The Star of Bethnal Green pub so you can get drinks and food at the venue. Start time is 6.30pm but it's fine if you join us later. The only rule of the group is to be nice and keep all discussion respectful and constructive.
