Neuromancer by William Gibson, part 1: cyberpunk and hacker culture

William Gibson's Neuromancer is the archetypal cyberpunk novel and inspired the whole cyberpunk genre, The Matrix and coined the term Cyberspace. We will be discussing the book, the cyberpunk genre in general and it's influence on hacker culture. There will be our usual unique blend of discussions, video clips and cyberpunk inspired music. We've hired the upstairs room at The Star of Bethnal Green for this event.

You don't have to read the book to attend but it is highly recommended. We are going to cover the first 2 parts of the book, so up to Chapter 7 / page 110. The only rule is to be respectful to all attendees and keep the conversation constructive and friendly.
