Presentations:

• Pedro Cabrera: "2G hopping channels sniffing" (@PCabreraCamara (https://twitter.com/PCabreraCamara))

Traffic captures in GSM networks with multiple channels and frequency hopping have been a problem that only certain high-cost devices have been able to solve. A brief review of the currently available solutions will be made, in depth on the Bogdan airprobe solution in particular, polyphase filters and the adaptations that will allow to use with low cost devices; BladeRF and HackRF.

• Mike Davis: "Decoding and Replaying Quadcopter FPV Video" (@elasticninja (https://twitter.com/elasticninja))

Mike describes his attempts to track quadcopters in real-time, using HackRF SDR(s) to process FPV (First-Person View) analogue video signals. He will attempt to explain how pseudo-doppler direction-finding works, as well as phase correlation. There may also be OperaCake.

• Nate Temple: "Betta hide yo downlinks (Building a budget friendly Az/El tracker)" (@devnulling (https://twitter.com/devnulling))

Want to get started tracking LEO satellites that require a dish? Buying an off-the-shelf tracking mount can be expensive. We will walk through the build and challenges of making a budget-friendly Az/El tracking mount from the ground up.

BIOs:

Pedro Cabrera

Software Defined Radio and UAV enthusiast, Pedro Cabrera has worked over than 11 years in the main Spanish telecommunications operators, conducting security audits and pentesting in mobile and fixed networks. Besides working with the telecommunications operators, Pedro leads Open Source projects such as intrusion detection systems for GSM networks, which has led him to study the various fake 2G cells attacks and existing solutions. He has also collaborated in press articles on this topic, wardriving around Madrid City looking for how many and where fake stations can be found just walking. During this year he has participated in security events, training "Attacking 2G/3G Mobile Networks, Smartphones and Apps" (BlackHat Asia) and demonstrating how to remote inject commands to commercial drones; "All your bebop drones still belong to us: drone hijacking" (RootedCon) and showing how to spoof GPS locations using SDR, fake 2G stations and Wifi beacon frames in San Sebastian; "Gps is dead, long live the Gps" (EuskalHack).

Mike Davis

Mike is a software developer during the day and in his spare time is the BSidesCapeTown badge maker. After being introduced to SDRs in 2014, he quickly startedbreaking things, including bricking his brand new car while doing research on how car remotes work.

He has given talks and workshops on SDRs, including "Hunting rogue wifi devices using the HackRF SDR" (http://www.rtl-sdr.com/youtube-talk-hunting-rogue-wifi-devices-using-hackrf-sdr/)and "Gone in 60ms: From AM to Open" (http://www.zacon.org.za/zaconVISchedule.html with @AndrewMohawk).

Mike has more SDRs than sense and loves to mess with wireless microphones at conferences. He is also a part-time MSc Computer Science (Information Security) student at Rhodes University, Grahamstown, South Africa.

Nate Temple

Nate is a Software Engineer, SDR Enthusiast, Maker and Amateur Radio Operator. He has presented the "Etch-a-SDR" and "Slackradio" at previous Cyberspectrum meetups.
