Cycle Kettering Friends & Family Ride - Ages 5-105
Details
Cycle Kettering is hosting an evening ride on Thurs., Aug. 13 (7-8:30pm) for all ages 5 to 105 to experience the joy of riding on one of our local paths, similar to the experience of the popular.CyclePaths weekly morning bicycle rides for Seniors 55+. The ride will be conducted in CylePath fashion with a grand departure at 7:15 pm after a brief safety check and trail riding etiquette reminders. Everyone will cycle at their own pace down and back beginning at Gentile Park and take the Dayton Kettering Connector to the University of Dayton and return on the same path with a stop at the Dairy Queen on Shroyer. Please arrive by 7 pm to check in and be sure waivers are signed.
Helmets are required. Class 1 & 2 e-bikes are welcome (750 watt max and 20 mph limit). Youth participants under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Adult and youth participants must have some experience riding the bicycle they bring without training wheels. This will not be a learn to ride opportunity. Very young children and pet passengers secure in carts and carriers are welcome. Total mileage will be about 5 miles, which includes a loop around Gentile Park. Parking is limited at Gentile Park, so participants may consider riding to Gentile. Depending on the participation in this ride Cycle Kettering in partnership with the Parks Recreation and Cultural Arts Dept. may consider offering more of these evening rides in the summer of 2027!
