Ride Background

This is a easy social ride.

Ride the low traffic commuter route on Clinton and Woodward to I-205 bike path, then Springwater back to the start.
There are a couple of sections that intermediate riders can "ride their own pace" to get that training effect then re-group, but nobody gets left behind!

The route we will be riding:

https://ridewithgps.com/routes/27121822

Distance: 17.5 Miles

Elevation: 410 feet

Very gradual climb on the way out, grandual downhill on the way back.

Level: Beginner and intermediate

Restrooms

At the starting location and a couple on Springwater.

The Fine Print

Weather Policy: Cancellations will be posted 3 hours before ride time. We will ride in light rain and winds. We will not ride in heavy rain, hard winds, thunder, ice, or snow.

At the end of each ride we will gather for a post ride social. You are encouraged to attend. Bring a lock. Carry a credit card, or cash to buy food or beverage.

CycleManiacs is a non-professional meet-up group of cycling enthusiasts intended to share a social, safe, and fun group riding experience with others. Mandatory for all riders: Helmets must be worn at all times while riding. This is a requirement and not a request. Please review each ride and determine which is the appropriate for your skill level.

Always bring plenty of water, snacks for energy. Bring a flat repair kit, including a spare tube tool kit and pump. Obey traffic laws and remember you’re a representative of the greater cycling community

Working lights are mandatory for all evening and night rides. Please be sure your bright and blinky lights are not blinding fellow riders (or drivers) and adjust them accordingly, especially if asked to do so.

No Earbuds.

Make sure your bike is in good mechanical condition to start the ride. We do not use the term “all clear” when crossing intersections. Conditions can change quickly. When “Car Back” is called, it means single file. These and other terms will be discussed at rides start. Each rider is responsible for his or her own safety and is expected to ride in a safe group riding manner, which does not create a danger to others.

Manage your RSVP’s
The number of riders for each ride are limited by the event host, and based on the experience of the participants, the course, and conditions. If you sign up for the ride, and your schedule changes, you must change your RSVP to NO. This will allow riders on the waiting list to fill the vacancy and enjoy the ride. Please don’t wait till the last minute. We will track no shows. Those who repeatedly “no show” may be moved to the bottom of the wait list.
RSVP’s cannot include a “plus one” or guest. Every participant must be a member of CycleManiacs, and thereby in acceptance of the release and waiver of liability terms.

RELEASE AND WAIVER OF LIABILITY

By participating in any posted event, you're taking responsibility for your own safety. Your RSVP signifies that you agree to the following.
Organizers, event hosts and other participants will not be held responsible for any individual at any event. Each rider rides at their own risk and is solely responsible for any damage to their equipment or themselves. Your personal safety depends on your own experience and judgment. By joining as a member you are agreeing that you are waiving any and all legal or civil rights for responsibility to the organizer, co-organizer, assistant organizers, event host and any other members within the group.
