Memorial Day Ride

As most of you are aware, long-time friend of the club, Jenna Rollman, had a serious accident several months ago and is currently in a wheelchair. I'm asking all of our members in Cycling Connection to support Jenna's Ride at Empire Bikes in Chino Hills on Sunday, May 26th, at 7:00 am. This 50 mile ride will include a climb over Grand Avenue, Brea Canyon, and portions the Santa Ana River Bike Trail. There is a recommended donation of $20 and all proceeds will go towards Jenna's medical bills and towards helping Jenna get hand controls. Lunch is being provided by Empire Bikes following the ride. This is not a Cycling Connection ride. However, as both Les and I will be participating in Jenna's Ride, we've rescheduled our regular Sunday ride for Memorial Day on Monday, May 27th.

Please join us for our classic two dam ride ride, only in reverse. We'll start with a loop around Bonelli Park, going over Puddingstone Dam. The short ride can then return down Baseline while the long ride detours up Mills to Shinn Road in order to end with a good solid little climb.

Please note that this will be our final ride from the parking lot at Day Creek and Baseline. Beginning Saturday, June 1st, all of our Saturday and Sunday rides will leave from Victoria Gardens.

This is an intermediate paced ride with an average pace of 17 to 18 miles per hour. Helmets are required. Rides will automatically be cancelled if it is raining at the start of the ride.
