Lets use this long weekend for a 2 days bike in the Netherlands! π΄ββοΈπ΄ββοΈ
The distance might be long but it is as easy it gets, expect 60m elevation gain in the 2 days π
We start at Antwerpen, Belgium. Not the most beautiful place but we will be out of there in no time exiting through Antwerpen North and before you know it we are on the land of windmills, wooden shoes and cheese πΏ.
Day 1: we arrive after 13:00 and get going, no accommodation required
We going to go on the slowest but most spectacular πβ΅ ocean side roads.
If my memories are correct when we getting close to Rotterdam there will be a nice fake sandy beach with a bar π΄ποΈ why not take advantage of it and enjoy ourselves before the last 20km.
Stay-over is at Rotterdam, take any hotel, airbnb you like. Here even airbnbs can be found on a decent price.
Day 2: We will cycle towards Amsterdam in a comfortable pace, we will again take the sea side sightseeing road, check out The Hauge as well before we arrive at Amsterdam.
There is a possibility to go home from here the same day but make sure you buy a flexible train ticket in that case as we will not rush it, there can be issues with the bikes, road closures, waiting for β΄οΈβ΅π’s to pass etc.
Amsterdam by itself deserves a day. Do you want a morning last minute trip to the windmills? Drink some Amstel π» on the Amstel ποΈ river? You can.
We do a last 11 km cycle Monday to the Schiphol airport where we take our 2 connecting trains through Brussels back to Luxembourg.
Very important:
1, For all bike events just like others everybody is coming for her/his own responsibility
2, Train tickets for the bikes must be purchased separately, sadly you cannot buy them together with your ticket
3, Eye protection is mandatory π
4, Must bring 2 inner tubes or fix kit in case of tubeless bikes so in case of defect we can fix your bike asap
On the Belgian rails bikes only cost 4β¬ extra however the bike compartments are heavily limited so buy your bike ticket before yours. If you decide to come better book everything as soon as possible. On the Dutch trains on the way back the bike ticket cost 23β¬ (biker friendly nationπ), sadly no way around it just buy it.

On the way there there are 2 trains the same time. Make sure you select exactly the one shown here with the single change (the other would be 2 changes). Make sure that under no circumstances you buy Thalys high speed train ticket because bikes are only allowed on those trains if you buy a separate expensive bike bag for them and take out the wheels.
Those who don't want to bike just hang out at Amsterdam can also come, we will arrive at Sunday night there and leave to the airport Monday morning to take the train.
This might not be a budget friendly trip but once a year we can afford it π
