Bikepacking in Munsö

At the northern top of Munsö on Ekerö, there's a beautiful lake surrounded by forest. It's quite remote, and a great place to spend the night in a tent. I'm hoping the weather improves enough so that this trip can happen.

The plan is to cycle from Sundbyberg station to the tip of Ekerö, which is about 45 km. We'll adapt the pace to the group and take a couple of breaks. Since we're bringing tents, sleepingbags and food, we can't go very fast anyway. If the weather looks to be dry enough, I might bring some charcoal so that we can have a small barbecue.

I've been to this place once before, but got there by bus and on foot. Getting there with bikes is a bit tricky, but it's possible. There are some nice trails for mountainbiking close to the lake. There might also be mushrooms to pick.

I'll bring a tent. I have a larger one if someone wants to join but don't have their own tent - then we can share. Otherwise I'll bring my small one. There's also a shelter there were it might be possible to sleep.

On the way there we'll divert from the main road a bit to travel on more interesting paths, but on the way back we'll stick mostly to the road to get back home faster.
