Sunday Ride: 26th of April
Details
On Sunday 26th April we'll depart from Sunshine Café, Hove Street, Hove BN3 2DF at 10.15.
Coffee drinkers arrive earlier!
This will be a ride of 40 kilometres (about 25 miles), flat apart from a short section in the middle.
Most of the ride is on cycle paths or quiet roads.
From Hove we ride out via Shoreham Harbour to Shoreham airport. After that there is a section past Lancing College and Coombes. We return to Shoreham via the Downs Link; a popular shared-use route on a disused railway track (no cars).
From the Downs Link we retrace our route through the backstreets of Shoreham to the locks at Port Kitchen in Southwick, crossing over to the seaward side of Shoreham Harbour and back to Hove.
Finish back at Sunshine Café for those who want to chat over lunch.
The ride will take about 2 and a half to three hours; at a sedate social pace.
Please note: All our rides are weather-dependent. If the weather looks bad, a ride will be cancelled!
If you plan to come on any of our rides, please make sure your cycle is in a roadworthy condition. Bring a puncture repair kit, a spare inner tube (or, for tubeless tyres, as appropriate), essential tools, a mobile phone if you have one, snacks, enough to drink, and sunscreen/waterproofs/warm clothing as appropriate. Don't forget your lights if you expect to be out in the hours of darkness. Please follow Cycling UK guidance and the Highway Code.
Check with us about the distance and hilliness of the ride if you are unsure.
