Semantic Search with Elasticsearch (Karel Minařík)

This talk will present Elasticsearch as a capable vector database. It will explain the conceptual and technical differences between semantic and lexical search as well as the concept of embeddings and semantic similarity. Using data from Czech Wikipedia, the talk will focus on code-based demonstration of generating embeddings, indexing data and performing searches, with particular focus on performance, as well as evaluating the quality of search results.

Observing with Elastic: The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly (Honza Král)
I have spent years helping Elastic customers implement their observability stack, how did I fare when it was my turn to implement it for my team?

In this talk we will go through the reasons why Elastic is still a great solution for all observability needs but also go through some of the things that are still causing trouble even to experienced users. We will see what are the things that work out of the box and which parts may cause issues and how to fix them.
