Join SA-Boston as we join in on a Worldwide "Day of Action!"
Sunday Assembly has truly become a global movement for good. It is estimated that by the end of the year, there will be 100 assemblies in 15 countries! To help live our motto mission to "Help Often", Sunday Assemblies everywhere have created a global Day of Action.
This is an exciting opportunity for each assembly — across the world — to volunteer in our respective communities on the same day. So come on out and be a part of an international conspiracy to help others! This is your mission (and we hope you choose to accept it):
//> What are we doing?
We will partner with the Franklin Park Coalition in cleaning pathsand removing invasive plants in Franklin Park wilderness property. This is a perfect event for June 7th, which is National Trails Day. How's that for Living Better and Helping Often? Keep in mind too what local boy Henry David Thoreau wrote: "In wilderness is the preservation of the world."
//> What should I bring?
shade hat, water, tough closed-toed shoes, and some $ for lunch after if you'd like to join us. Also, bring your kids! This is a family-friendly event. The FPC will provide gloves, tools, and instructions.
//> Where are we meeting?
Franklin Park, at the Valley Gates Parking Lot on Circuit Drive, near the Giraffe Zoo entrance, south of White Stadium. The #16 bus stops there and it is a 10 minute walk from the Green St T stop on the Orange line.
//> How long will this last?
We will work in the park from 10 am until noon, and then enjoy lunch afterwards at Doyle's Cafe, about a mile and a half away by car, at 3484 Washington St
Hope to see you and yours there as we help to maintain this beautiful natural resource for the benefit of all members of our community. Contact Zak if you have any questions: zbos@atheists.org. For more information, see:
