Rebuilding Giants

Everybody is talking about Digital Transformation these days, right?

But it turns out, that that kind of transformation is not that easy to do. It feels more like building it all over from scratch, like demolishing the current thing and constructing it all over again. It really feels like rebuilding, not transforming.

And that is even worse when the organizations and systems that you are trying to change are old, big, slow and complex. Almost like a grumpy giant.

So next Tuesday we are going to talk about Rebuilding Giants, in the new, stylish and modern EDP headquarters, which are in themselves a symbol of the rebirth of one of the oldest and biggest companies in Portugal.

Let's get together on April 23rd, starting at 6:30 pm, at the EDP Digital Factory, a newly created unit at the heart of the new EDP Headquarters in Lisbon. And just like last time, we will take advantage of having so many great minds in one room to be able to create something meaningful for the Design Community. We will have three speakers, a panel discussion and a small exercise, and also some snacks and drinks as well.

First, we will have Joana Mateus, Designer @ EDP Digital Factory and Átina Cunha, Digital & CX Project Manager @ EDP, that will talk about Making EDP digital from the inside out.
Then, we will have Nuno Viegas, Senior UX Designer @ Talkdesk, that will talk about Transforming Marine Insurance from the Inside out, as well.
And to finish it off, we will have Daniel Furtado, Interaction Designer at Wezen and Youtuber/UX Evangelizer at the channel UXNOW which will talk about Design Activism (Daniel's talk will be in Portuguese).
