Details
18:30pm- Welcome, networking, and introductions
19:00pm- The limitations and Business Rules in a Model-driven app and how would you overcome them.
Speaker: Andrew Wolfe
This is one of the interview questions that I ask Functional Consultants, Technical Consultants, and Solution Architects. I'm going to talk about the answers that people give and the answers that I look for. We are then going to use JavaScript to overcome some of the limitations. I'll take you through a simple journey via demonstration from using Business Rules only, without installing an Integrated Development Environment to automation using JavaScript. We will simplify the documentation, add a few tricks and, hopefully, make it easy to get simple Form automation that's more powerful and easier to manage than a large set of Business Rules.
19:35pm- Break, food and networking
19:50pm- Power Pages Meets GDS: Challenges, Solutions, and Lessons Learned
Speaker: Steve Middleton
Adapting a Power Pages site to meet Government Digital Service (GDS) standards comes with its own unique challenges. In this session, we'll explore the process of transforming a standard Power Pages implementation into a (hopefully) GDS-compliant solution. Starting with an accelerator as a foundation, we'll dive into the hurdles of applying GDS styling to elements like subgrids and forms, and the workarounds needed to get them right. I'll also demonstrate a multi-step “Check Your Answers” form and explain its implementation.
Whether you're tackling GDS compliance or are just curious about pushing Power Pages beyond its out-of-the-box capabilities, this session will share some of the challenges I have faced in adapting Power Pages to work within GDS design patterns.
