Our third in-person meeting for this year will take place on Monday 14th September from 18:00 at Campus Reading. We look forward to seeing you there and encourage you to arrive from 6pm to meet other user group members!

Agenda as follows:

  • 18:00 - Welcome!
  • 18:30 - Keeping What Matters Safe: Securing Data from Power Apps to Power Automate - Jason Murphy, Power Platform Admin and Developer @ University of Surrey
  • When Power Apps sends data to Power Automate, that data can be exposed along the way, just like in other programming tools. In this session, I’ll show a simple, practical way to make your app more secure by disguising sensitive information before it travels. And once we’ve started thinking creatively about protection and already down the rabbit hole, we’ll explore other easy wins to strengthen your Dataverse data security too.
  • 19:15 - Break & Pizza!
  • 19:45 - From Builder to Problem Solver: Business Analysis Skills Every Power Platform Consultant Needs - Sam Nagle, Power Platform Functional Manager, PwC
  • Great discovery is the cornerstone of every successful Power Platform solution, but many consultants and developers pick it up by trial and error, without a structured approach. In this session, we’ll explore why strong business analysis skills are essential for delivering solutions that truly solve problems. You’ll learn practical techniques for uncovering the right requirements, following effective processes, and developing the “human side” of consulting. Communicating, influencing, and understanding stakeholders. Walk away with actionable strategies to move beyond building apps to solving real business challenges.
  • 20:30 - Networking & Close
