DevTank November
Details
Another month, another venue. Starting at the slightly later time of 7.15pm, November's DevTank takes us to the state-of-the-art Camden based offices of Forward (http://forwardtechnology.co.uk/venue), where we will have Fred George discussing Programmer Anarchy (http://www.infoq.com/presentations/Leaner-Programmer-Anarchy) and Chris Read talking about Evolving Continuous Delivery (http://gotocon.com/aarhus-2011/presentation/Evolving%20Continuous%20Delivery). Filling the gap between the talks you will have the opportunity to fill yourselves with the usual great pizza and beer.
Fred George joined Forward in 2007, bringing Agile practices to all aspects of the business. He will discuss Programmer Anarchy, a development process where programmers are not just empowered to act but the driving force behind a product, leading to substantial increase in results.
Chris Read works in the high pressure, fast moving world of proprietary trading. In this talk, Chris describes the evolution of the Continuous Integration and Deployment systems he currently works with. By discussing what's worked well and not so well over the past year we explore the blurring line between tools, teams and processes.
After proceedings we will be heading to the Grand Union (http://www.grandunionbars.com/bar-grill/ourbars/camden/) pub, which is just up the road (http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?saddr=19+Mandela+Street%2C+NW1+0DU&daddr=102+-+104+Camden+Road%2C+Camden%2C+London+NW1+9EA+%28The+Grand+Union+-+Camden%29).
