Contra dancing is fun & easy! If you can walk, you can contra dance. No partner necessary. In addition to the lesson, each contra dance is taught and called. Our regular dancers are very welcoming to newcomers.

We'll begin with a potluck dinner at 5:30pm, then a newcomer’s session at 6:30 pm, and contra dancing (plus 2 casual waltzes) from 7 pm until 10 pm. You can show up anytime, but if you want the lesson, please be here a little before 6:30.

Dance is held at: The Harriet Hale Rix Cottage (aka Garden Cottage) at 1707 Alameda Ave. The Cottage is off the street, through an open gate, and sits behind The Home of Truth Spiritual Center (which is on the corner and has its front entrance at 1300 Grand Street).

Admission: $15-$30 cash suggested, or pay what you can. Those who are financially comfortable may choose to chip in higher to support the dance (and earn gold wings on your shoes).

Ours is an inclusive dance that is open to all who want to dance. But please do not attend if you have tested positive on a Covid test, have any illness symptoms, or have close contact or live with someone who is ill or tests positive. The hall is well ventilated.

This is a scent-free event!

Music this month is by The Whiskey Bros trio: John MacFarlane (fiddle), Jeff Ward (mandolin), Dave Courchaine (guitar).

We hope to dance with you!
