Edison Road to Conejo Mountain, Dos Vientos, Newbury Park - 5 miles, ±1,200'

Details
Let's hike up to the top of Conejo Mountain from Via Ricardo in Dos Vientos (at 850 ft. elevation) and see the regrowth of vegetation in the aftermath of the Springs Fire. The Edison Road is graded dirt that provides access to the power pylons. We will take it to the little loop at its highest point, and return, enjoying the beautiful sunset over the Channel Islands.
Weather is forecast (http://forecast.weather.gov/MapClick.php?lat=34.17490799999999&lon=-118.99032799999998&site=all&smap=1&searchresult=219%20Via%20Ricardo%2C%20Thousand%20Oaks%2C%20CA%2091320%2C%20USA#.Uc9dvPmG2So) to be a high of 78 on Friday - perfect for a hike with absolutely no shade. Bring sunscreen and your headlamp.
Bringing guests? Not a problem for this hike, but have them join Hike to Health and sign up for the hike.

The trailhead. The trail is the gravel path heading up and off to the right, adjacent to the street address shown above. Conejo Peak is in the distant background.
