Getting To Know Git

Version control is a very important process in software development. Every software project is using some kind of version control system, or at least it should be. This is true even for your personal projects. Heather will help you level up your version control skills using Git. During this talk, Heather will go over what Git is and show some hands-on Git basics. By the end of this presentation, you will feel comfortable using Git to create repositories, clone repositories, add files, compare files, and branch and merge.

Heather is a senior full-stack engineer with VHT in Akron, OH. She earned her bachelor of science degree in computer science and engineering from the University of Toledo. She started her career developing on the Microsoft stack and is developing software in ruby and Node.js in her current role.
