This month we have Alex Benedict as our guest who will be leading a two-hour workshop (please read below to see what packages you should install beforehand):

Qt for Android Workshop

Come learn how to use one of the most widely deployed frameworks(used in embedded applications like in-car entertainment systems, web, desktop, and mobile applications) which runs on almost every system(including Android, iOS, Windows, MacOS, Linux, FreeBSD, QNX, and more) to write apps for Android. We will cover the basics of C and C++, learn what makes Qt for C++ different from regular C++, go over the basics of modern C++17 and how it similar to and different from Java, and learn how to use Qt Quick controls to make an Android app that can also be run on the desktop.

Please ensure you have Android studio installed along with the Android SDK, and an Android simulated device. It would be best if everyone installed Qt Creator(https://www.qt.io/download-qt-installer) and along with that all of the QT for android packages in the latest QT version 5.13.0.

Bring your laptop and questions about Android and we can talk about them as a group during our developer discussion.

RSVP Required, Limited Seating. Feel free to bring some refreshments if you want to share.
