Adding external lights to a scene allows the photographer to create a unique mood. Objects can be separated from the background, highlighted or hidden, a portrait can be made sinister and mysterious or soft and calm.

This evenings program will be the first of a two part series that focus on using external lighting to create unique images. Part one will stress fundamentals of camera settings, setting flash power, and location of flash. We'll start with instruction and demonstrations and then break into groups to experiment and explore using our own equipment.

Bring your cameras and external flashes if you have them. We'll have spare strobes and reflectors, and maybe a flood light and sheet of foam board for those who like the idea of being a creative photographer using household equipment.

Norm Aubin will provide refreshments for this evening.
