ARM Hackathon with Hypriot

How about doing an ARM hackathon?

For this hackathon we will have Govinda Fichtner from the Hypriot crew over from Germany. He will talk about the cool ARM projects they do, and assist us with hacking on our own ARM boards.

Govinda Fichtner - DevOps by day and ARM-Hacker by night

Somehow suffering from not being fully engaged by my day-job as a DevOps, my wife & three kids and several outdoor activities I tend to dabble with ARM-devices and cutting edge cloud-technologies like Docker by night. I have been working in the IT industry for 15 years in many different roles such as developer, administrator, consultant, architect, trainer, project manager, team lead and CTO.

20:00 - ??? Docker on ARM workshop by Hypriot

The guided workshop will be structured as follows:

• getting familiar with the Raspberry Pi
• flashing an SD card
• accessing the PI via various means
• first steps with Docker on the Pi, what is different to x86 Docker
• if time allows we can have a look at Docker Compose and Docker Swarm
• optionally we could also show how easy Docker Clustering gets with the Hypriot Cluster Lab
