Join us for July's Health 2.0 Iowa Meetup! This month we're excited to welcome, Renee Riffey, owner of Right at Home Cedar Rapids. Right at Home is a non-medical home care agency that provides support to the elderly and disabled adults. Serving Linn, Jones, Benton, Johnson, Iowa and Cedar counties. Offering personal cares, housekeeping, laundry and errands/transportation are some of the services they provide. Right at Home is a Medicaid and VA provider.

Renee is also a certified Virtual Dementia Tour trainer.

The Virtual Dementia Tour® (VDT®) is a scientifically proven method that builds sensitivity and awareness in individuals caring for those with dementia by temporarily altering participants’ physical and sensory abilities. This evidenced-based program simulates changes associated with cognitive decline. Geriatric specialist, P.K. Beville authored and invented the VDT as her post-graduate work. This patented program offers hope by providing practical ways to create an environment that supports the disease and increases understanding. More than one million people in 17 different countries have experienced the Virtual Dementia Tour.

Renee will discuss the services provided, address her concerns with the lack of knowledge that these services exist, and discuss how training's like the VDT are very important to be able to serve loved ones affected by Alzheimer’s and Dementia.
