Advanced Compositing Workshop by Denise Silva

Denise Silva gave a very creative and educational presentation at our October meeting on “Blending and Textures”. In 90 minutes you can only scratch the surface on how to design and create seamless composites. So we thought this would be a great subject for our very first weekend workshop!

This will be a hands on class with the assumption that you have had experience with Photoshop, as well as layers and masks. If you are brand new to Photoshop, this workshop may not be for you.

Denise Silva will lead the workshop in learning various ways to make selections in Photoshop and how to refine selections for seamless compositing. These techniques can be used to then perform many tasks, from replacing skies to making composite images. We will practice the techniques that are needed to build composites, including selection techniques, layers, masks, layer styles and more.
Denise will provide all the images for the practice, so that everyone will be working towards the same results. In this workshop, we will learn how to use layers and masks in Photoshop to blend textures and/or other images together to create exciting composites.

The workshop will also cover the various ways to combine multiple images/textures and manipulate photos. Texture blending and image compositing allow you to blend multiple images (images with images, graphics or textures) to create new and wholly unique art. The combinations are limitless.
