This talk is part of the #wome_in_nlp talk series which invites women who successfully carved their career path in NLP to share their experiences and advice. Everyone is welcome to attend the talk not only women.

◾ Abstract:
Jasmijn will talk about her experience working in the industry, deciding to pursue a Ph.D. in natural language processing, navigating the Ph.D. years, and ending up in the industry again. Additionally, Jasmijn will talk about her research for part of the talk.

◾ Learn more about Jasmijn:
Jasmijn Bastings (she/her) is a researcher at Google Amsterdam, having joined Google in Berlin late 2019. She holds a PhD from ILLC, University of Amsterdam, on the topic of Interpretable and Linguistically-informed Deep Learning for NLP. Recently, Jasmijn has been focusing on explainability, fairness and robustness within natural language processing. She is also one of the organizers of BlackBoxNLP: Analyzing and interpreting neural networks for NLP, a workshop collocated with EMNLP 2021.
