In our “Building Your First AI Agent” workshop, led by Aamer Charania, Babar Bhatti, and Jeffrey Liu, you’ll get a practical, low-code, and hands-on introduction to what AI agents are, how they differ from chatbots and simple automation, and where they can create real value in modern organizations.

Together, the speakers will guide you through designing an agent around a realistic workflow, clarifying the key building blocks—goal, tools, data, guardrails, and evaluation—and walking through how to prototype and test an agent responsibly, without needing a deep technical background.

By the end of this session, you’ll walk away with a clear mental model for AI agents and a repeatable process you can apply to customer support, operations, analytics, and other high-impact business scenarios.
Attendees are encouraged to bring their laptops to ensure interactive participation.

This event is hosted in partnership with Spears Institute for Entrepreneurial Leadership at SMU. Learn more about Spears at smu.edu/spears

***SMU CAMPUS PRE-PAY PARKING INFORMATION***
Prepurchase parking passes is strongly suggested to help reduce backups and allow time to park and get to your event on time.

Attendees can set up a visitor account in the Parking Portal and prepurchase a day visitor permit. [SMU - SMU Parking Portal] Use the login for Visitors and Guests and follow the prompts.

Use a guest code that appears on the permit screen at the gate keypad reader and park on level two of Binkley Garage (Garage 69 on the map, closest David B. Miller Quadrangle).

Parkmobile prepurchase is also an option, because Parkmobile does not feed the license plate over to our parking software, guests must print and display the permit on their dash. A QR code on the Parkmobile permit must be scanned on the Pay Station to raise the gate.

Parkmobile can also be use in pay by space but only for a maximum of 3 hours.
