1st ever - Jersey Poker Run
Details
We are having our first ever - Jersey Poker Run. This is not a race, it is a poker run for anyone wearing one of our jerseys. It is not about how good a poker face you have, it's all about the team with the best poker hand which will be declared the winner.
To participate in the group riding part of this event: You must be wearing your Dallas Cycling Trail Riders and Weekend Pub Crawlers Jersey.

We will be playing 5 card draw, with each team getting a card to start and then 3 cards drawn from the various stops along the route. The final card will be back at the Lake House. Then standard rules apply that each team can draw up to 3 cards, unless they have an ACE, then they can draw up to 4 cards.
After the ride, everyone is welcome for the 5 card showdown. We are going to have a raffle for some bike mart gift certificates and other donated prizes. We are going to also have an auction for a 6th card draw...
The winning team will win a night's rental of a real "Las Vegas style" poker table and all the goodies that go with it. Perfect for a party or birthday. Donated by Game On!
And the winning team will enjoy some fine awards and prizes, as well as bragging rights until the next poker run.
Non-jersey members are welcome to join us for the after-party at the Lake House restaurant. We also need some non-jersey folks to man the draw spots and deal out poker cards to the teams as they arrive. Post in the comments section below if you want to volunteer to be a "dealer" or photographer.
So put your jerseys on and let's ride!

PS. Best advice I can give all the teams is from a good friend of mine. He said, "Son, I've made a life Out of readin' people's faces Knowin' what the cards were By the way they held their eyes So if you don't mind me sayin' I can see you're out of aces For a taste of your whiskey I'll give you some advice"
So I handed him my bottle And he drank down my last swallow. Then he bummed a cigarette And asked me for a light. And the night got deathly quiet And his face lost all expression. He said, "If you're gonna play the game, boy You gotta learn to play it right.
You've got to know when to hold 'em Know when to fold 'em Know when to walk away And know when to run.
You never count your money When you're sittin' at the table There'll be time enough for counting When the dealin's done.
