💡 Speaker One:
Jeremy Custenborder, Field CTO at Nstream
Title of Talk:
Build Streaming Web Applications using SwimOS and Kafka
Abstract:
Streaming data is ubiquitous in backend systems nowadays with the increasing adoption of Message Brokers like Kafka, the leader in the category and Stream Processing Frameworks (Spark, Flink etc.) However streaming data and/or streaming APIs are rarely used in the Web Application domain where the dominant paradigm is still REST APIs. With SwimOS you can achieve end-to-end streaming all the way from the backend to multiple web-applications.
About SwimOS: SwimOS is a purpose built platform for streaming applications. It is a vertically integrated application stack backed by Stateful Entities (Web Agents), Streaming APIs and
Real-Time UIs.
In this talk, we will demonstrate how you can use SwimOS to take messages from one or more Kafka topics and create multiple entities, where each of these entities automatically possess a streaming web-accessible API. We will also show you how to stream data from these entities into Real-time UIs, command-line tools and other web applications.
